Velocity Football confirm to host second open event in December

In response to high demand for Velocity Football’s first ever virtual open event via Zoom earlier this month a second session has been confirmed.

The second open event – which again will be delivered via Zoom to guarantee compliance with the Government’s latest COVID-19 guidelines – will take place on Wednesday, December 9, from 7pm.

Velocity director Justin Merritt and head female coach Lauren Haynes will co-host the evening with input from the programme’s male head coach Mickey Lewis too plus insight from a selection of current BTEC students.

The well-attended first event concluded with an overwhelming response from prospective students and their parents and carers, prompting plans for a second open event to be finalised. Subject to COVID-19, Velocity Football will also host a taster morning for interested students in February with more details to be released soon.

Next month’s second virtual open event will offer youngsters and their parents or carers the opportunity to learn more about the programmes that Velocity Football’s expert team of UEFA A and B Licence coaches deliver and to raise questions they may have about the course via a ‘type and send’ question and answer session.

Viewers will also be able to learn more about the first-class facilities Velocity Football provides to its students, including a 3G FIFA Pro pitch, a second 3G training pitch, a mini gym, hard courts, classrooms, changing rooms and social areas.

Education will also be covered during the evening with information available on the five courses Velocity Football delivers in partnership with Ignite Sport UK and Virtual Learning UK which are suitable for male and females aged between 16 to 18 and 19 to 23.

Velocity director Justin Merritt said: “The response to our first virtual open event was fantastic, and in response to additional demand we have booked a second session. This will enable us to engage with more interested prospective students and their families and share information with them.

“We’re looking forward to it and sharing more about Velocity Football and what we offer our students. Make sure you book your spot now to guarantee a place.”
